L2 Network Design Engineer

Position Summary:

The Network Design Engineer is responsible for the development and ongoing maintenance/support. Provide technical expertise and architectural solutions in infrastructure enhancement in Datacenter Network Design & deployment areas.

Responsibilities :

Responsible for Network infrastructure design
Acts as a Network expert for infrastructure teams in the plan, design, and delivery of IT solutions.
Advises teams of IT technology standard requirements, methodology, and processes.
Drives short- & long-term architecture strategy for the overall IT project portfolio for key business segments.
Participates in proof of concepts to assist in defining technology direction and enabling business strategy.
Maintain a common documentation library of standardized procedures and configurations
Provide third-level support for incidents and problems in designated areas of expertise.
Communicate and collaborate with local IT staff as well as colleagues in other parts of the world for configuration, troubleshooting.

Qualification :

6+ years’ experience in a production IT environment managing enterprise IT infrastructure, hardware, hosting service and network areas.
Deep understanding of TCP, IP, and other network protocols. Familiarity with DNS, DHCP, and other network services
Experience with Routing and Switching and good knowledge of MPLS.
Experience with Nexus 5K, Fabric extenders, supporting VPN / IPSEC solutions required.
L2 + level support/ Third line support
Strong Routing and Switching skills: Cisco and Juniper preferred
Experience in troubleshooting, supporting, a Cisco environment that has Cisco Switches (7ks, 5ks, 3750s and a variety of Cisco switches), Cisco Routers (29xx series, 3xxx series, ASRs)
Experience with troubleshooting and supporting Checkpoint & Cisco ASA firewalls
Experience troubleshooting WAN incidents and engaging carriers as required
Experience in working and supporting an Enterprise network (LAN/WAN) at a mid- to a large corporation, Power User of Microsoft Visio and therefore must have excellent written documentation skills
Knowledge of managing a data center in terms of Network capacity planning and performance monitoring & tuning.

Language Proficiency:

Proficient in Japanese will be required
