PTC Engineer Process: Power Tool Center

Position Summary

Responsible for the management of Power Tool Center (PTC) Japan. This role demands a high degree of technical competence, customer orientation and confidence in providing tools and systems offers that directly and significantly impact the overall success of the business.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

· Handling of complex integrations in automated customer environments

· Support the team in complex trouble shooting / problem solving (with methods and know-how)

· Supports introduction and ramp-up of new tools to the customers in regions

· “Sparring partner” for R&D during concept-phase and requirement-definition for new developments projects

· Repair and maintenance of assembly solutions

· Responsible for organizing and planning PTC Japan

· Responsible for collecting VOC related to tools and applications for tools and systems developments

· Perform other job-related duties assigned by supervisor

Skills

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

· Deep electro-mechanical expertise and skillset

· Extended expertise of more complex aspects of our tools and their meaning and interdependencies

· Expertise in customer environment (automation, assembly line, validation, etc.)

· Understanding and support of our tools in this environment (“on eye level / at the side of the integrator”)In-depth knowledge of Mechanical Engineering

· Better-to-have knowledge of:
o Automotive Engineering
o Electrical & Electronics Engineering
o Electro-mechanical Engineering
o Industrial networks / PLC
o Mechanical tool driven by Electric / Battery / Pneumatic / Hydraulic power

· Be familiar with computer operation and MS Office software

· Field experience of handling customer inquiries

· Being customer oriented and are always ready to roll up sleeves to act

· Ownership of responsibilities, good communication skills, details-oriented mentality, teamwork & positive mindset.

Educational Requirements

Education / Experience

· Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably major in mechanics, mechatronics

· Native Japanese, and business level English

Experience Requirements

· Engineering background from related industries, e.g. automotive, tools, etc.

· Experience from the product development process is a plus
