Senior System Engineer

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION 

Responsible for product design and insuring designs meet customer requirements. Serve as a team member on multi-discipline Project Development Teams. Work is of a technical nature where decisions are made within the limits of general practices and procedures. Creativity and initiative are expected to make engineering decisions. Supervision is available to handle unusual situations.

 

Responsibilities

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES 

Establish and maintain good working relationship with Japanese OEMs Customer

Act as direct interface with Japanese OEM customer, provide voice of customer
back to Design Centers

Understand how our product is applied at Japanese OEM customer

Attend customer meetings, complete assigned action items and regularly report on progress

Work on site with Japanese OEM customer in Japan during hardware and software
testing

Participate in the development, validation, and improvement of requirements. Update vehicle
and system bench content.

Assist Japanese OEM customer with duplicating and debugging issues on the bench
and in the vehicle.

Investigate vehicle application issues with the customer and address resolution with the
appropriate competency. Provide vehicle application and voice of the customer input to
program team.

Participate in validation/Testing of HW/SW releases at Japanese OEM Customer

Participate in validation/Testing of SW patches at Japanese OEM Customer
SPECIFIC ISSUES (SUCH AS WORKING ENVIRONMENT, BUSINESS TRIP)
Able to take frequent business trip Able to work from home

Required skills: 

Japanese Speaking with English good Skills

Familiar with automotive Safety requirements preferred

Experience with Vector CAN tools, ETAS tools, Lauterbach tools, DDT tool

Experience in embedded systems and / or vehicle systems

Understanding of vehicle’s electrical architectures and communication protocols

Understanding electronic schematic drawing and technical specification

Understanding of SW coding and modeling and technical specifications

Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team

Analytical aptitude to identify, diagnose and resolve problems

Knowledge of automotive product development and testing

Ability to travel to various global sites as required.

Educational Requirements

Education/Degree: 

Bachelor’s degree in electrical / Electronic Engineering required

Experience Requirements

Systems engineering experience preferred, especially hands on bench support

Minimum 5 years design and application experience in Automotive Industry, Steering is preferred
