OMG does our company need to create a blog to help with recruiting and hiring.

Creating a blog is good to provide relevant, up to date information on a regular basis. This is important to the success of any recruitment strategy. Simply put, the more valuable insight that you provide to the visitors of your blog through digital media, the more likely potential candidates will be to return to your site and become proactive applicants. However, before you publish your next post, you need to follow a simple checklist.


Spelling and Grammar

The first item on your checklist should be to scan the material for any errors in spelling or grammar. In the past, the only thing that you needed to attract site traffic through search engines was a vast amount of linked keywords. That is no longer the case. These days, search engines rate sites based on writing quality, value, and relevance. Make sure all of these elements are up to par before posting your next blog entry.

Another thing to keep in mind is that potential job applicants are going to be looking for companies that present the highest standard of professionalism. Blog articles that are free of errors say that your company is focused.

Even with all the changes with search engines over the past few years, links are still important. When you are creating a blog post to highlight your brand, you should find keywords that are relevant to your industry and use links accordingly.

Be mindful not to over or underuse keywords. Use links to your social media content and other relevant pages on your website. You may even want to consider sharing employer branded content with related sites that are popular with the potential job applicants you want to attract. This will effectively increase your company profile.

OMG how many times? Posting one or two articles a month is alright. However, it would be better to post new material even more frequently. Always add links to other organizations and associations when you publish on your blog. In addition, it is a good idea to include a call to action of some kind at the end of your posts. It is also acceptable to include these in the middle of the content from time to time.

This is an excellent way to keep any potential job applicants interested. Your call to action can be as benign as a simple video. It can also be more application-oriented by directing visitors to apply for open positions or sign up for your newsletter.
